Preference.

Some like tea, others like coffee. Some like it hot, some like cold. Some take it with sugar, others with milk or creamer. Some like it in a cup, others prefer it in a mug. Well, that is all a matter of preferences. Yes, preference is the title of today's post.

We human beings are so spoilt with preferences and choices. That is one of the reasons why we are so distinctive and unique than any other creatures. We have options that were determined by our preferences in so many things in our lives.

A couple of weeks ago I had a conversation about travelling and holidays with my husband. As you can see from my previous posts, there were numerous stories about us travelling and how much we both enjoy that sooooo much! Okay, let's get back to the real story. Hahaha!
We talked about places to travel, activities during that stay and so many things. We talked and talked and realised that we enjoy travelling places, food and many more. Then it made us wonder about others who love to travel for various other reasons like shopping, hiking, diving and the lists go on and on and on.

It's just a simple conclusion for these. Preference! Every individual has their own personal preferences regarding everything. And that include, travelling! We shall never condemn other people whose interest against ours and that we shall respect their choices or preferences.

There are some people who loves to go on a shopping spree during their holidays. Cities like Paris, London, Milan, New York offers a lot of great bargain especially branded goods, so I think those who love shopping for these items deserve to splurge on whatever they wish to buy.

Some enjoy exploring the nature at its best. Countries like Nepal, China, New Zealand, The USA, Canada and a few others offer one of the best hiking and mount climbing spots in the world. So those who are adventurous will definitely enjoy all these places. Me, not so brave enough especially anything to do with heights. I admit that I am an acrophobic ( I guess those flying years didn't really help me any way!)

Diving in Maldives, Mauritius, Manado or even our own Mabul Island in Sabah are great for those who enjoy being nibbled by the fishes. Haha! Just kidding. These places are divinely gorgeous with incredibly amazing marine life and coral reef. And guess what? I am afraid of fishes in the sea. So, I will just enjoy the breathtaking view of the ocean without dipping myself in it.

Theme parks are so fun! I love them so much but I don't know why that I am so freaked out when it comes to roller coasters these days. I guess I am a coasterphobic now. But I know my husband loves it so much. I guess that I just don't have the guts nowadays.

Okay, enough of descriptions of all these places and what to do and yada yada yada.
It is just preferences. So, we shall not judge others by places they love to go, things they love to do during holidays, or places they've never been before just because we've been there and done that.
It is all a matter of PREFERENCES. Go figure yourself.

So, please stop talking about how other people suppose to travel or choose the 'right' destination for them because we should be the one looking at ourselves and do what we like best without being nosy about other people's affairs. Enjoy your holidays folks!

Travel...

I miss travelling!! Help!! My kind of travel is easy going. But when can I go??? My love, please help!!
Haha! Will write more on my next post when I am free. Ciao!

Life as I see it...

Howdy everyone? It's been quite some time since my last post. Also, it wasn't that great of writing. Haha! I guess I wrote it out of frustration. Nevertheless, it helped me to release some tension through writing.

I went through a rough and tough period of my life those couple of months. Not only that, it affected me so much that it almost ruined my marriage. Thank God that I am stronger than before and I love my husband and children even more now. I believe that it was just a phase in my life and lesson I've to learn that life or marriage aren't always rainbows and butterflies.

Something sparked my sister in law and she burst into anger and we had a huge argument. After all, I know I am not her dream picture perfect sister in law. I had to defend myself and answered her. That clearly angered her and unfortunately she behaved in an extremely imprudent manner. Pity my Mom in law had to witness that. From that moment, I knew I had to move out in order to make things better at least, for my family.

I know she has her own side of story and honestly, I truly don't care. Alhamdullillah that we managed to buy a small shelter for our family and InsyaAllah we'll move in by next year. It was a tough and huge decision but we had to.

Chempaka Naura is attending a play school now. FINALLY!!! She loves it and I love it too. It is nearby and I love the environment. I love the Principal and teacher. Best of all, she enjoys it there. And that is the most important part. We tried 2 play schools before sending her to Miss Gurdeep's, but I guess she didn't fit in those two. And I guess I didn't really like it there too.

Melur Maira is back to Gymboree and she's totally the opposite of her older sister. She's more observant and Chempaka Naura is hyperactive. I am trying to get use to it. Chempaka is more like me, jumping around like monkey and chatty. Melur is more like Shafiz, calm, cool and a little shy. Haha! I am so excited when I see them fighting for the same toy or making each other happy by playing and sharing together. They are so unique and special in their own ways.

I am blessed to have my husband supporting me and loving me for who I am despite the friction between me and his sister. He keeps me going every day. Telling me how beautiful I am despite the pimple attack, telling me I am a smart person even though I don't go to any prominent universities, telling me I am a great Mama to our kids despite me yelling and nagging to them sometimes, that I am a nice wife although I hardly cook at home. And so many more. The list is endless. Thank you my love for allowing me to be part of your life. And I am sorry for any thing that I've said that might hurt your feelings, any thing that I did before that humiliated you and most of all any of my shortcomings that you might not like. You are the most accepting people I've ever met. I love you so much just the way you are.

Being married has made me a tougher person. It taught me how to compromise and accept each other in order to live comfortably and happily. I learned a lot about life, about other people and so much more. I've become more accepting and even calmer than what I was before. I got more 'Hidayah' and Alhamdullillah, I thank Allah for that.

I hope our marriage will last forever and I will never take our love for granted no matter what.

They are the one who always keep me going...

I'm Back!

Hi there people... Finally I am back blogging again. Haha! Sorry for being so absent this few months. I have so many things to write, so many pictures to upload and experiences to share. I am wayyyyy happier now than I ever before. Thank you my love, Shafiz Yusof. Thank you for making the decision that made a huge, massive, humongous difference in our marriage. I can't thank you enough for all that and I love you even more and more each day....

SOME PEOPLE........

Some people are just not worth fighting for.
Some people are just a disgrace to themselves.
Some people do not know how to accept others just the way they are.
Some people think they are so great.
Some people think they know everything when you ask them anything.
Some people still refuse to learn and accept their own wrongdoings.
Some people love to blame others when things do not go their way.
Some people enjoy forcing people to do what they do not wish to do.
Some people are just green-eyed monster.
Some people are so childish without realising that they are.
Some people are still stuck in their old way of thinking.
Some people are just so reluctant to let go the past and concentrate the future.
Some people are horrible followers.
Some people are just terrible leaders.
Some people enjoy tormenting other people's soul.
Some people just do not know what is mutual respect.
Some people believe so much that they earn the respect when the fact is they actually demand respect.
Some people just love to talk and talk and talk and talk and talk till the cows come home and won't stop.
Some people who loves to talk so much are imbeciles who talk nonsense.
Those are the same people who are just awful listeners.
Some people are so horrid but they call themselves so loving.
Some people know how to criticise others but reluctant to accept others who criticised them.
Some people do not know how to handle their stress.
Some people do not know how to release their stress.
That makes them look some kind of dumb lad and lass.

IN LAWS.

I haven't been sincerely happy being in the house where I live in now. I tried to be my usual self but often frustrated by how some people's reactions when they come face to face with me. I am not so sure should I be writing this in my blog or not? However, I believe by writing it out it will somehow help me like sort of a therapy on how to let go and move on.

I'll be celebrating my 5th year wedding anniversary with the most loving, understanding, compassionate, patient, (and so many other qualities) husband Shafiz Yusof. Can't believe that you could put up with my quirkiest behaviour and still love me for who I am. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MY LOVE!

Being a new member in a family of my husband's was swift for me. I could blend easily with other in-laws especially my Mom-in-law. We became best friends instantly as I could get along with her so easily compared to my own Mama. I was blessed and amazingly lucky because she is the mother-in-law I've always dreamed of. Alhamdullillah. Same goes with my 2 elder sisters-in-law. We got along pretty well.

Somehow, nowadays it is quite the opposite for me. I don't really feel that I belong in this house anymore. I feel like I am invisible. My Mom-in-law is still a darling to me although I've kept my distance a bit from her after an intervention that happened 3 months back. I don't want to feel guilty of giving her any pressure because of what had happened back then. My sister-in-law (and her husband) had some issues with me which I find too petty (and I still do!) but I have let it go. I tried to mend the broken bond between us but to no avail. At times, I am clueless on how to actually make it as normal as before but I thought about something on why the response is always negative from their side.

They are just like that! From my observation of their behaviour towards me, there are things that I learned from them and it somehow answered my questions. Perhaps they need more time to adapt the way I am. Perhaps they always think they are always 'RIGHT', things have to be their way and that they believe that's the 'BEST'. They are still learning on how to 'ACCEPT' others the way they are. They are still learning on how to 'COMPROMISE' in certain issues. They are still learning that what's 'IDEAL' for them may not be the same to some people. They are still learning on how to 'LET GO'. Well, it's just as easy as they are still learning just the way others are still learning.

No matter how nice or how good I am, I am just an in-law. A daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law. Now that I have learned these from them, I begin to learn how to let it go easily. I have come to accept that I may be ignored during family ceremonies, they may pretend that I am not there, or the worst I've encountered was when they pretend to be nice to me in front of others and not so nice when it's just us. I tried to be nice and act as normal as I could before, but I was greatly ignored and I told myself that I am done being nice or at least trying to be. To them, it's still not good enough. I will give them what they want. The silent treatment. Perhaps, with some distance the wound will be able to heal in no time. InsyaAllah.

This is my side of story. I know they have theirs but I just had to write this in my blog. I have been crying in my heart just to let it go, but it wasn't easy for me. I can't thank my husband enough for helping me through this rough patch in our 5 years of marriage. Thank you for giving me the assurance that you love me the way I am, just fine and would never ever leave me no matter what. It made me believe even more that I know you are just the one for me and it doesn't matter what others think of me. I only care about you and our girls more than anything else in this world. All these people who can't accept me the way I am can just say whatever they want to say. I am just being me. Like it or not, I am just me. Love me or hate me. Like me or despise me. It's your call.

I love my family, that's more important. Shafiz, Chempaka Naura and Melur Maira. You guys rock my world more than anyone in this world! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

Can't wait for our Phuket Anniversary Getaway. Let's enjoy our family time like we always do!

LOVE YOU ALL...

Thank you for 5 great years my love and more years of happiness with our girls.

The BIG Four O.

We celebrated Shafiz's 40th birthday at Hard Rock Hotel Penang last April. Hence, the title. Anyway, it was truly a rockin' birthday for him indeed. We hope you love it.

The price that we got was cheaper than usual as it was during low season. We wanted to try the Lagoon Deluxe room as it has direct pool access. Unfortunately, we were not allowed as we have 2 young children below 12 years of age. So, we stayed at Deluxe Sea View instead which located on the 3rd floor.

I was planning for a surprise birthday dinner and breakfast for my husband but it ended up as no surprise because it was all last minute plan. Haha!

I love this hotel (for now) and I really hope that they'll keep up their excellent service when I come back again next time. Check -in was swift and hassle free. Requested for an extra bed and it was prompt and efficient. Plans for my husband's birthday dinner at Hard Rock Café and in room breakfast service were first class and I can't thank them enough for all the effort they put in trying to fulfil my crazy demands and requests (especially the message on his birthday cake plate and flowers on his birthday!). Oh my! I love the service they provided to me and my family. Or am I just being lucky?

Pool was awesome and my darling Chempaka was soooo into it! Melur had her first swim or more like a dip. We love the pool and we can just laze around the pool the whole day.

Anyhoo, I hope my dear husband enjoyed his time there with us. Even though it was merely 2 nights but the memories that we built will be cherished forever! As always, here are some or shall I say many photos of us enjoying our time there. Do enjoy!

We'll be coming up in the air! On our way to Penang via airplane.

Thank you for joining us my dear husband Shafiz Yusof. We hope you enjoyed your celebration there with us. If we didn't manage to do other things you wished us to do, we do apologise for all the shortcomings. It has been quite rough couple of months but we are strong together. Thanks for believing in me. And the girls. We love you and we look forward for more celebrations in future. Thank you again for everything. We always enjoy our trip with you. Thank you.
