Melur Maira Mohammad Shafiz.

Alhamdullillah. Melur Maira has finally arrived into this world safely and healthily on 31st October 2012 at UMSC. It was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever felt having my baby girl naturally despite my fear of childbirth and labour. I have supportive family, friends and gynae and nurses. I can never thank them enough for everything.

I can't really describe my labour experience and I am so grateful that I didn't have to suffer long hours of pain and agony prior to childbirth. Again, Alhamdullillah it was a swift delivery for me although Melur Maira had poo-ed inside me just like her elder sister Chempaka Naura. Fortunately, my contractions were so close apart and I just needed to push her out and voila, Melur Maira was out in no time.

I won't write much here as I'll allow the photos to do all the talking about one of the most eventful days of my life. Do enjoy it!

Checked-in at UMSC@9.40am. Having contractions, 5 minutes apart. Trying to act cool by smiling in between contractions. Haha!

One shot of us before my gynae comes in. Still in pain but in control.

Terrible Twos.

I often ask myself this question, is there such phase as Terrible Twos??? A lot of times, I don't have the answer. This is simply because I have not reached there yet! Things have changed tremendously lately and I began to realise that soon I am entering the TT (Terrible Twos) phase with Chempaka Naura.

I read a lot of materials about dealing with children. I knew I had to start some where because I am an impatient adult-cum-mother. It is funny though that I am in control of my emotions when dealing with strangers but not when dealing with certain of my family members and my daughter is no exception. I wanted to know and perhaps learn and practise the best possible method when come the day dealing with temper and tantrums from my 2 year old daughter. However, I feel that I failed miserably when dealing anything with her.

Anyone living with toddlers knows how quickly they can change. One minute all is bliss, full of happiness and laughter then... BAAAMMM! They suddenly turn into a monster erupting from a volcano bursting with lava of anger and testing your patience to the very limit.

Usually, I am pretty great handling her crankiness in public but unfortunately, at home I can easily turn into a devilish cruel mother who will shout and scream to her face. I tried to be more patient when she's being horribly unreasonable with her actions at home, but a lot of times I'll be annoyed and bursting with anger. Sometimes, when I just couldn't take it anymore I'll just let it all out by crying endlessly. I guess that's just the 'phase', right? I hope I can go through it with Chempaka Naura and also with my new baby soon.

I have print-outs sticking on my bedroom walls to remind me on how to talk to my children, how to be more patient when they're driving me crazy, how to do oh so many things...I have to have all that reminders because I want to be a good  mother to them. I don't want to be too soft, or too hard to my children. I want to help them all the time but I want them to be independent at the same time. I want them to excel in their studies but I don't want to be a crazy Mom who pushes her children too much to get excellent grades. There are so many things I want and don't want to do to my children and I just don't know how to do or even where to start. Am I bad mother? Or even worse, am I foolish mother?

I just hope I can be more patient and calmer when handling my daughter. I don't want her to hate me, but I want her to love me. Terrible Twos suck big time but they are also great milestones of great imagination and exploration for both children and parents. It may be some of the toughest years (don't make me start with teenage years, I'll write about it when the day arrives! Haha!) but InsyaAllah we'll get through it somehow.

Praying so hard I'll be better every day. So help me God!

I had to blog about this because I just had a terrible two situation with my darling Chempaka Naura.

I am so sorry that I shouted at you when kept on kicking me.
I am truly sorry for telling you that I'm leaving you if you don't go to bed for your nap time.
I am sorry for being mean to you by leaving you in the room and locked up myself in the loo for a few minutes.
I am sorry for not letting you be near me when I'm in rage.
I am sorry for everything and please accept my humble apology.
I am still trying to get to know and understand you better.
I hope you feel the same way too.
However, with all those silly actions I did, I just want you to know that I love you so very much.
I just want you to know that I will always love you so much, no matter what!
Mama loves you so much Chempaka Naura.

Can't you just be this adorable all the time???
I love you so muchos Chempaka Naura.

CN@TC, Kuantan 2012

Oh how I miss Kuantan! Yeah I know I can see some raised eyebrows among my readers here. Why Kuantan??? Haha! I have this love-hate relationship with Kuantan. Kuantan was my first night stop destination when I started my solo flying back in 2004. Also, during this particular time a guy was trying to impress me (he didn't, mind you!). Hahaha! With this guy, I got to know some of the best places to eat seafood in Kuantan and one of them is called Pak Su's Seafood. I always love the beach in Telok Cempedak, they're just far cleaner than PD or some other beaches in Malaysia. Well, to cut things short, I just enjoy Kuantan.

My loved ones and I decided to drive up to Kuantan for a short getaway before I go into labour. Well, we did the same thing on my previous pregnancy but it was just in Melia Hotel,KL. So, this time we wanted to go some where a little further than KL. It was either Malacca or Kuantan. In the end we agreed on Kuantan as I was also craving for 'keropok lekor'. It's easier to get it while in Kuantan than Malacca, I guess! And yes, I succeeded in search of the 'keropok lekor' and it was very up to my liking. Alhamdulillah, no drooling for my baby! Just kidding!

It was just 3 days and 2 nights stay in Hyatt Kuantan. We spent a lot of our time lazing around at the pool area. Chempaka Naura loves being in the water. We brought her to the beach to let her experience the beach and the waves but I guess she was too afraid of the gushing waves hitting her feet. She prefers the pool than the sea.

Weather was lovely. It wasn't too hot and it didn't rain either. It was cloudy and shady. So, we didn't really get sunburned. Good for Chempaka Naura to spent some time in the pool. It helped a lot on her eczema-prone skin. She was as happy as a clam.

Kuantan isn't that bad! We just didn't have much time to explore all around. Perhaps when the kids are bigger, we'll try to make another trip there and explore other locations like the National Park or Chini Lake.

Some photos to share our days in Kuantan. Enjoy!
